I have never been to Vienna before but tonight my river cruise will take me to this beautiful city, so I thought I`d see what the best things to do there in the evening are.
Top of the list must be visit the Opera or go to a concert. The Opera House in Vienna , the Staatsoper, is one of the busiest and most famous in the world. It has grandeur, a hugely talented Opera Company and the Vienna Philharmonic – the world-famous orchestra which accompanies performances.
Next on the list – The Sky Bar with views to match its name. The fabulous panorama is only matched by the 350 different cocktails on its menu – sounds good to me !
Number 3 – go to the theatre. There are 50 theatres in Vienna but the Burgtheater (Palace Theatre) is the most famous and is a huge source of pride to the Viennese. This impressive building is one of the oldest, most important stages in the German-speaking world. Built on the Ringstrasse in the 19th century, the Burgtheater stages classical and contemporary works of the very highest standards of production.
Visit the Danube Tower, opened in 1964 it is the tallest building in Austria. It is 26 feet high, with two lifts that will take you up to the rotating restaurant for a wonderful view in 35 seconds. The Danube Tower is one of the landmarks of Vienna.
Of course you could just wander and get to know this lovely city situated on the banks of the Danube, soak up the atmosphere and enjoy .
