Stop The Ship – I Want To Get Off!

Fred Olsen have long been renowned as a small ship, very traditional cruise line with lots of loyal passengers. Very much cruising as it was before robot bartenders and waterslides came along!

However they do have some very interesting new ” features” to their cruises that are first in the industry. If you are on your first cruise with Fred, and you are not having a wonderful time, then their Enjoyment Promise will fly you home from the next port of call the ship stops at . All you need to do is be a first time cruiser with Fred Olsen, book at least 12 weeks in advance and the cruise has to be more than 4 nights long.

So off you go, you`ve been on board 24 hours and you hate it, you`ve been seasick and not seen land since leaving Southampton. The waiter spilt soup down your back and your bed is lumpy, plus the people in the cabin next door keep arguing and you can hear it all ! No problem – just go and see the Guest Relations Manager within 48 hours of embarking your cruise and you can fly home from the next port of call AND get you money back!

Sounds too good to be true? Well its not. I can remember when Thomson introduced a similar policy during my days as a rep and we all threw our hand sup in horror – everyone would want to go home – nightmare. In reality it never happened, I can`t even think of one occasion as most people like to have  a little moan but, at the end of the day, we all want to have a lovely holiday, and on one of Fred Olsen`s friendly ships you will. If the worst happens though probably  best  not to book a Transatlantic for your first cruise as you might have a long wait!

Not only do Fred Olsen have the Enjoyment Guarantee on their cruises but you can now also sail with them if you don`t have a passport, sounds wrong but its not.

If you take a cruise around Britain with Fred Olsen and have one of  the following, but no passport, that s fine:

EU national ID card
 Driving licence
 Council issued bus/travel card
 Firearms licence
 VALIDATE UK card (This is a widely recognised form of ID within the UK, produced by a private
company – see www.validateuk.co.uk for details and cost)

Yes that’s does say a BUS PASS!

Here is an itinerary that looks good – Floral Britannia on 28th April sailing from Dover for 11 nights on Boudicca

Dover : St. Peter Port, Guernsey : Falmouth, England : Pembrokeshire (Fm Milford Haven) Wa : Liverpool, England : Kirkwall, Orkney Islands, Scotland : Invergordon, Scotland : Rosyth (Edinburgh), Scotland : Newcastle (North Shields), England : Dover

A little bit of Britain in Bloom!
