Regent Seven Seas Explorer will set sail on her Maiden Voyage on 20th July 2016 and the cruise is already sold out!

The ship sails from Monte Carlo, a fitting place for a luxury cruise liner to start her life at sea, to Venice. Sailing along the French Riviera she calls in at St Tropez before heading over to the Balearic Islands and Barcelona, then onto Sicily , Malta, Kotor in Montenegro, Split and Koper before sailing into Venice where she will stay in port overnight.

I have been fortunate to sail with Regent, on the Voyager a couple of years ago and it was a really good cruise. One of the words that describes the Regent experience is space and this is what Explorer will be all about, along with the understated luxury that makes them so special. You never feel that you are surrounded by fawning staff,  but if you need anything there is always someone there to help. Explorer is going to be slightly smaller than the other ships in the fleet, but will carry just 750 passengers with almost the same number of crew members.

The pool area, as you would expect, will have  probably the most comfortable sun loungers at sea, again lots of space is the key feature here.

Food will play a huge part in making the ship a success and her restaurants will be a delight for all those lucky enough to sail on her. Chartreuse, the French speciality restaurant, will replicate a chic Parisien dining venue, table for two will be plentiful or choose to dine in the Parisian-inspired courtyard, wherever you decide to sit you can be sure the food will be excellent. The Culinary Arts Kitchen will give you the chance to develop your cookery skills whilst at sea. Pacific Rim will be themed on Asian cuisine,  dine whilst looking out  to sea through windows designed in an abstract lotus shape. Compass Rose, La Veranda and Prime 7 will all be there too, along with the Pool Grill and the Cafe

She will of course be an all suite, all balcony ship with furniture and décor to match the rest of her luxurious appearance.

Regent are, what I call, a ” proper” All Inclusive ship, want a Gin & Tonic ? they have virtually every kind you can think of, and that’s goes for all types of wines and spirits. A bottle of your choice will be delivered to your cabin on arrival, but if you fancy a pre dinner drink on your private veranda you could juts pick up the phone of course!
