Peter Pan and and the Designers of the Caribbean

How about this for an outfit to get you noticed !

Captain Hook Costume, designed by Piers Atkinson

Well its what one of my best friends, Graham Noakes, will be wearing on Saturday  night – actually he`ll be wearing it every night this week ! Believe it or not this is a very glamorous Captain Hook and he is appearing in Peter Pan and the Pirates of the Caribbean at the Bloomsbury Theatre, London. all this week. The pantomime is a charity event,  a swashbuckling spectacular in aid of the NSPCC, nothing to do with a Caribbean Cruise of course!

Graham will play the evil l Captain Hook which, thinking he`s just recovering from a broken collarbone, is quite appropriate. What I didn’t`t realise though is that he`ll be singing too – I didn`t know he could,  and numbers by Lady Gaga and Freddie Mercury no less !

This annual spectacular production is the work of the leading Designers – a theatrical extravaganza featuring legendary figures from the world of fashion and interior design, such as Dame Vivienne Westwood, Zandra Rhodes, Jasper Conran, Tomasz Starewski, Bruce Oldfield and Piers Atkinson – who created Graham`s costume. It promises to be a fantastic event, for a really worthy cause,  and I am so excited to be able to see it on Saturday night. as it really will be a night to remember.

To give you an idea of the story – “London is grey and drab. All the interior designers have fled to Never Never Land to escape their client’s bad taste and endless complaints. But with Captain Hook on the loose, how long before the Designers realise they must return colour to London and save the secret to design from Hook’s evil clutches? ” As well as Captain Hook, Peter Pan, Wendy, Tinkerbell, Tiger-Lily and the Lost Designers will be there for a production of magic, fantasy, mermaids, pirates,  crocodiles and great fun.

The Gala Evening is on Thursday when many celebrities will be present and many of the outfits will be auctioned for charity at the end of the weeks performances. Saturday night will be special as it is the last night and we have even been invited to the after show party, which promises to be just as good as the show. I really can`t wait and, as this is my second trip to London in a couple of weeks I am starting to feel like a real city girl!

On a more serious note Sunday will bring a chance to go to the Tower of London and see the wonderful poppy display . There are 888,246 ceramic poppies placed in the Tower`s moat to commemorate Rememberance Day.
