A Tale Of Two Ships – Part Three

Entertainment onCarnival Sunshine reminds me very much of that on the much loved Ocean Village. There are non of the usual Broadway style stage productions, there is a small theatre but this is used for a variety of acts such as tribute bands. and Las Vegas style productions.

There are a wide variety of bars and venues to while away the evening. Enjoy a Mojito in the Red Frog Rum Bar or a Tequila in Blue Iguana, for sports fans there is the EA Sports bar showing a wide range of sport on wide screen TV`s. There is, of course, a large Vegas style casino and the more sophisticated  Alchemy Bar where they make great cocktails. The Punchliner Comedy Club is what it says on the tin and if you want to dance the night away try the Nightclub with DJ Iri. The Library Bar is a much quieter place to enjoy a drink before dinner and the Atrium has a really good selection of live singers and bands every night. Karaoke and live bands were other favourites.

One of my favourites was the Piano Bar, this was busy every evening, you need to get there early to get a seat. The pianists sang all our favourites and managed to play all our requests too.

Out on deck there is the Seaside Theatre where you can sit under the stars and watch a movie. There are the obligatory shops to tempt you to part with some money and a lovely spa and gym to keep you fit. I went and had a lovely relaxing pedicure marred only by the pushy attitude of the beautician who tried to sell me very expensive products the whole time I was there, beware of this !

By day, if you are not out an about in port, there are swimming pools and Jacuzzis on deck. Carnival Waterworks is at the back of the ship – not for the feint hearted and no I didn’t give it a try !

One of the best parts of the whole ship is the adults only pool area – Serenity Adult Retreat. Here you will find huge, comfy padded loungers and a lovely pool where you can relax and read a book or snooze in the afternoon sun.

All in all a lovely ship – why not give her a try!
