Princess Making us Brits Feel “Catered” For.

Ever the crowd pleaser, Princess Cruises have revealed plans for a tailored food and drink menu for the Crown Princess during the summer season, whilst the ship is calling Southampton home.

The cruise line took the action to make the changes after speaking with their customers, and have acted accordingly, something we don’t see often enough in the industry, in my opinion. They will be offering the new menu as well as their existing options.

The new offerings will include; a larger breakfast choice introducing back bacon, English sausages, crumpets and black pudding. Lunch time will see fish and chips being offered every day! A weekly curry night is being introduced offering a variety of tried and tested favourites. The whole thing would be of course pointless without the offering of a full roast dinner on a Sunday with all the trimmings. On days at sea, the cruise line will be offering good old pub lunches like Sheppherds Pie and Lancashire Hotpot.

It is not only the food menu that had had an injection of Britishness. A new range of teas will be offered (no more weak Lipton!) and a good cuppa is available at all hours. Perfect. The condiments are being changed too, with Marmite making a debut, HP sauce and of course, Branston Pickle! It seems they really have listened to the market and acted on it! (As well as making me very hungry whilst I write!)

Of course, the transformation would not be complete without a look at the bar menu, with Princess ramping up their options for British ales and beers. Music to my ears.

The new food and drink options will launch on Crown Princess who is due in Southampton in May, ready to sail around the Med and Northern Europe all summer, with a new home from home menu.
