NCL Joy floated out.

Norwegian cruise lines’ “Norwegian Joy” is due for its completion very shortly and will be the 4th biggest cruise ship in the world. The NCL ship is the first in its fleet purpose-built for the Chinese market and can only be booked through their Chinese travel partners. The 4,200-passenger boat will be based out of Shanghai and Tianjin and will have Mandarin as its official language.

This isn’t fair as it looks brilliant!! According to NCL’s website, the ship’s top deck will include a 2 level go-cart track and an open-air laser tag course! Both features are firsts at sea, and having tried the NCL Escape, I would love to see how much bigger the Joy is.

The 326-meter (1,069-foot) cruise ship was built in Germany, and from what I’ve been told, they built things well in Germany! It will be sailing out and into the North Sea ready to make the long journey to the Far East where she will (exclusively) live.

“Norwegian Joy” is the twelfth ship that the Meyer shipyard has built for NCL with two more scheduled for delivery in spring 2018 and autumn 2019.

Other features for the Chinese to get excited about include a virtual-reality gaming center, a very large casino (very popular in the Far East,) Hover craft bumper cars, there is a park area for guests to enjoy a relax or partake in some Thi-Chi, a vast array of duty free shops and of course, water slides, with one of the water slides extending over the side of the ship and another that is transparent.

I for 1 am hoping the 2 future orders are open to global sales, as I love NCL and I love go-karting, and slides, and bumper cars, and I’m pretty certain relaxing is something I could definitely do!!
