Cruising with kids!

So, yesterday I disembarked the glorious Celebrity Eclipse after spending 2 nights on her on a short cruise over to Le Harve. Not only was this trip my first on the Eclipse, it was my children’s first ever cruise. No pressure Dad!

Well, I’m glad to report back, that we all had a brilliant time and think the kids may well be sold on the idea on potentially going on a longer trip, now to get saving.

Introductions then, my eldest diva, Anais is 12 going on 17 and my youngest, Tallulah who is 5. Both enjoyed different things the Eclipse had to offer. The picture below was taken just before the big sail off, eldest readying her phone for some pics and youngest trying to see sharks.

I got to see this face a lot. I think this was the moment she spotted the library and though it was Belle’s from Beauty and the Beast.

Having booked a lot and heard a lot about aft facing verandas, I though I would try it out. I now know why they are so popular and definitely worth the extra. As was the Concierge supplement, purely for the queue jumping at check in, the thought of joining the extremely long queue with a hyper 5 year old left me in a slight panic!

Concierge – number 2157.

The youngest, who before the cruise had a bit of a phobia of swimming pools seemed to go full mermaid on the cruise and we struggled to get her out for the muster drill! This resulted in my 2 daughters turning up to in in the dressing gowns, which did get a few smiles as we sat waiting.

Anais’ loved the experience of her 1st cruise. Did not go into the teen zone except for with us to have a look. Instead she chose to get beaten at table tennis. My better half even captured the moment on camera when she confessed that I was the best at everything. Awww.

Whilst Tallulah went to kids club twice, without even being asked! I think the biggest hit was the food. Anais was worried about not liking “posh food,” and Tallulah is a grazer at best, but Celebrity come up trumps and they ate like Princesses.
