The Battle in Southampton

Well 2020 will be an interesting year in Southampton I would say. P&O new ship Iona will have its maiden season and hot off the press so will Celebrity’s new Edge class ship ‘Apex@

We have heard all about the Iona and already she has been a HUGE hit the maiden voyage was nearly sold out bar inside cabins within ten minutes !!!

What has the Apex got to offer ??

She will be the second of four new cruise ships under Celebrity’s Edge Class of ship. Her outstanding features will be a movable deck cantilevered off the side of the ship, cabins with infinite balconies designed to blend indoors and outdoors with bi-foldable doors and a Resort Deck, which features a large pool with trees and Jacuzzis that overlook the deck below.

For the first time with Celebrity they will have dedicated 16 single cabins and they have also revealed two new suite category of cabins Iconic Suites and Edge Villa.

The largest of the two new suites is the Iconic coming in at more than 5,000 square feet. Both will be located above the bridge, facing forward, giving occupants the same view as the captain. Iconic Suites have two bedrooms and 700-square-foot balconies placed over the bridge wing; balconies will have private Jacuzzis and cabanas.

The Edge Villa will be over two levels , which features an elevated master bedroom, large living room and two full bathrooms and they will feature a private plunge pool.

Another first for Celebrity is the Suites will have their own private area called ‘The Retreat ‘

New door lock technology in the rooms will enable cruisers to open their cabin doors using an app on their phones.

Measuring 117,000 tons 2,900 passengers so average size in ships these days.

That is as much as they have revealed so far …..and so far so good she looks gorgeous!!!
