’17 Females and a man ‘

Blog 1) I have just returned from a little break away with work on the ‘Independance of the seas’.It was a small group of us from different departments here at Cruise.co.uk. We had the pleasure of spending the 4 nights with our sales director Andrew , unfortunately for him he was alone with 17 females.

I flew down to Southampton which was great once we arrived at the airport we went to queue for a taxi to take us the port , the prices seemed to of gone up a bit since I did this last as they were charging £25. We had plenty of time so decided to get the train which cost us £3 and was only one stop away. We arrived at the terminal at about 11.00 and checked in with no queues and boarded straight away. Top tip as our colleagues arrived a little later and there was queues!! I suppose when people get given times to board the ship they should stick to it to avoid congestion. The ship was full to its capacity I believe which was about 4200 passengers. Once we were on the ship we had a little look around as she started filling up we decided to go and find our cabin which we had an outside on deck 2. Perfectly fine fairly spacious cabin with a decent size window. The bathroom was great as it had a glass door rather than a shower curtain.
The drinks packages has been introduced since I had been on board last and I have to say I would really recommend buying as for 2 drinks it came to $19, the drinks package cost me $68 a night so was worth it.

The clientele on board was a mix of all ages there were a lot of families on board as it was half term and a few of the couples we spoke to hadn’t been aware it was half term one thing I always try and tell my customers.

We visited Zeebruge , Le Havre and Cherbourg and although there were plenty of excursions on offer you could just get a shuttle bus into the local town .

We managed to get to meet some of the senior officers on board , chief engineer and also the Guest services manager.
