May is such a busy month for me – roll on June so I can have a rest!!
So far this month I have been to a wedding on 1st May in Skipton, Yorkshire, my daughter Kim & I attended the wedding of my friend Sarah, we were friends when we all lived in Bolton and Sarah’s daughter Olivia & Kim went to school together. We don’t see much of each other but keep in touch by Facebook. They came to my wedding 2 years ago so was nice to see them again last week.
It was a lovely day and everything went smoothly, we had a great time. We traveled up to Skipton the night before the wedding so to be sure we were there for the big day, so had 2 nights at The Coniston Hotel – such a beautiful place and a great hotel.
On the Monday bank holiday I went up to Bolton to see family & friends as it was my brother Paul’s birthday so we took mum from the care home out with the family, it was such a lovely day and the 1st time we’d all been together for over a year.
I spent a couple of days visiting various family but didn’t get to see everyone as time always runs out but I had a lovely time anyway, I stayed a night with my brother & a night with my sister. I took mum shopping to buy her some new clothes for the summer as outgrown most of hers due the good food she has been having in the home. Bless her as long as she is happy.
On 16th May I am going to see Take That in concert at the LG Arena in Birmingham, this will be the 5th time but only 3 of them now so we’ll see if just as good – I hope so & think they will be. Going with my sister in law as we always go to these concerts together.
On 24th May I am going up to Liverpool to stay with Adam’s (my husband) cousin as he lives there so I can see the 3 Queens together on the Mersey to celebrate the 175th anniversary of Cunard. I’m quite looking forward to this as it sounds like it’s going to be a great few days! So look out for my blog all about that when I return.
Here is the run down of the weekend:-
Between 24-26 May 2015, all three Cunard ships will call at Liverpool to salute a city that will be forever part of our history, culminating in all three Queens meeting on the Mersey for the first time on 25 May. The rendezvous of three ships offers you three different ways to take your place at the forefront of this remarkable event.
A full complement of guests will experience the occasion from Queen Elizabeth, arriving there as the final visit during a 16 night cruise around the Baltic Sea. Queen Mary 2’s 10 night route stays closer to home, calling in Scotland, Ireland and Guernsey. Queen Victoria arrives in Liverpool during a 6 night cruise that also visits Guernsey.
Sunday 24 May
Bank Holiday Monday 25 May
Tuesday 26 May
Are you going to Liverpool to see this spectacular? I’d love to hear your stories….
So a busy month for me, June is a bit quieter so far apart from the weekend of the year when my friend Kjersti from Svalbard, Norway to stay for a few days then I’m off on my 14 night holiday on board Celebrity Eclipse to Baltics at the end of July – think I will be ready for that!
