Day 1/2 of My Holiday…..Orlando/Miami!!

As you may have seen from my previous blogs, I have just been on holiday. This blog is bout the 2 days in Florida before my Cruise.

We flew from London Gatwick to Fort Lauderdale with BA, other than the 2.5 hours delay the flight was great. My friend and I managed to get the row of 3 to ourselves so we were happy with the extra room.

Then it was time to pick up the car and drive to Orlando, I had never driven in America before but surprisingly it was OK with the sat nav of course!! So if you’re thinking about hiring a car whilst there then definitely do it.

Because of the flight delay we missed Halloween Horror Nights unfortunately. However, we got a great nights sleep ready for the park the next day. We stayed at Universal’s Cabana Bay Hotel and I managed to get a free upgrade to a Volcano Bay View room and it was amazing, I wish we could’ve stayed longer. We then went to Universal for the day until 4pm and we pretty much covered all the rides in both parks.

The last time I went was over 6 years ago and it had changed so much, my favourite ride was Popeye’s Barges, you can see the post ride picture below.

That afternoon/evening we went shopping in the Vineland Florida Mall and then got back on the road to Miami. In Miami we stayed at the Waterside Hotel & Suites in Miami Beach. The hotel was great, it was about 20 minutes away from South Beach and the room was really nice.

The next morning we checked out and headed to Miami International Mall to do our last bit of shopping before heading to the port.
