Back from Aurora

Last weekend I was away on a 3 night cruise on Aurora with my husband and some friends. This was my first time on Aurora and I have to say it felt quite small  after sailing on Ventura and Azura. Having said that there were a lot of things I enjoyed ( including great company in case any of my friends are reading this). I liked the fact that Café Bordeaux was free to dine in at breakfast and lunch so this was on alternative to the Main Dining Room or the Orangery. I have to admit that I am partial to Muscles so did have them twice for lunch in Café Bordeaux. I felt that the Orangery had plenty of seating area but the food station was rather small and didn’t quite cater for the amount of people passing through there ( For want of a better phrase my friend said it felt like a bun fight!)

In true P&O style we had the sail away and we couldn’t have wished for better weather. With the sun shining we departed from Southampton to an array of cheesy classic’s and lots of dancing from the theatre company and cruise director. Although It was lovely to have the view from the aft of the ship I did find it a bit strange as this is usually held around a pool in the centre of the ship.

Champagne Sailaway

On Sunday I didn’t bother getting off in Guernsey, as I had been there a few times before, and so decided to stay on-board and sunbathe. We did venture into Blankenberg on Monday to buy the “must have” Belgium chocolates and we also had time for a cocktail at my favourite Beach Bar “The Reef”.

I also met one of my clients on board as she had described herself and husband to me and I managed to spot her. I have to say it did take a few glasses of Champagne to pluck up the courage to approach her but I’m glad I did as she was lovely!.

Here are a few pictures from out trip.
