A Rocking Weekend in London

This weekend I was away with my husband and friends to see “The Killer’s” at Wembley. We travelled by train to London from our local station and arrived in London at lunchtime. Unfortunately we could not get a hotel at Wembley so had to stay at Hammersmith, which was a bit of a trek, but it was worth it in the end. We stayed at the Novotel which is only 5-10 minutes away from the tube station so we didn’t have far to walk. Once we had dumped our bags we headed to Nando’s for lunch and spent a leisurely couple of hours eating and drinking and talking about the day ahead.

We arrived at Wembley about 5.15pm, thankfully there were not any long queues, and we managed to get straight in and straight to the bar ( that’s always a result!).  The first support band on stage was “James” who are best known for there hit “Sit Down” in the 90’s and if you are as old as me you will remember it well. The second support band was “Gaslight Anthem” and to be honest I wasn’t impressed. This could have had something to do with the sound system which wasn’t great while they were on.

The highlight of the night of course was when “The Killers” took to the stage. They played all the favourites and some lesser known tracks but the highlight was when they played a song about Wembley and also sang “I think were alone now” by Tiffany, that was classic!

Its going to be another busy weekend this weekend  as on Sunday I will be travelling to Gatwick with my some of my colleague’s and we will be flying to Pisa on Monday morning to join Carnival Sunshine for a couple of nights. I’m really looking forward to seeing a Carnival ship as I have never travelled with them before. My colleague Neil has even challenged us to a race on the water chute and I have already accepted the challenge! I hope I live to tell the tale next week!
