The first ever meeting of the three Queens on the River Mersey!

This year is going to mark  Cunard’s 175th anniversary, and with all the celebrations planned it’s sure to be an unforgettable one! There will be special events and cruises to mark this anniversary and for those who love cruising and of course Cunard it is going to be very exciting.

One of the highlights I think is going to be the three Queens meeting for the very first time on the River Mersey in Liverpool. This will happen on the 25 May when the three special cruise itineraries will bring them together. Just imagine this sight, the excitement in the city, the excitement on board!  The Major of Liverpool has said he is expecting worldwide attention for this event and I don’t think he and the people of Liverpool are going to be disappointed. Liverpool is just up the road from where I live in Manchester  and I am hoping to be in Liverpool for some of the celebrations.

There will be around 6000 passengers involved from about 28 different countries around the world! I think this just highlights the global success and love of Cunard and just how many people Cunard appeal to.

So just how can you be part of this memorable meeting of the Queens. There will be three special cruises, and there is still really limited availability on these sailings, so you do still have a chance to be a part of these celebrations.

There is going to be a British Isles cruise taking in Dublin ,on board the Queen Mary 2, sailing on the 17 May for 10 nights. In contrast there will also be a 16 night Baltic sailing on board the Queen Elizabeth visiting St Petersburg on the 11 May. Or finally a short sailing of 6 nights on board Queen Victoria on the 22 May calling into St Peter Port . All three sailings as I’m sure you can imagine have been extremely popular, and there are now just a handful of cabins left .

All three Cunard ships are going “dance” so I have read up the  River Mersey. All the exact details and plans are being kept under wraps by Cunard and those organising this amazing event. Liverpool is going to be in the spot light during this anniversary for Cunard and is expected to attract more than a million people to the city during May through to  July for a number of different events centered around the River Mersey. It’s a welcome change I think from these type of celebrations being in Southampton, I think Liverpool will do the 175 th anniversary proud.
