September..what a month for me!

Well what a month September turned out to be!  I was reminded that even the best laid plans in life can change very quickly. September was going to be the month for our first family holiday abroad with our little girl. This time instead of a cruise we chose an All Inclusive holiday in Menorca, one of my favourite islands. Years ago I worked in Menorca and I knew it would be perfect for our holiday.

Little did I know our holiday wouldn’t happen and not only that I would end up in hospital!  I was unexpectedly taken into hospital poorly on the 31 Aug and spent the next 9 days there. It came so out of the blue as I was perfectly well the days before. I can safely say it is not an experience I ever wish to go through again and thankfully I am now feeling much better after lots of rest and being looked after by my family.

With our holiday abroad being out of the question, we took a weekend break which we have just got back from in North Wales. Not my usual cruise holiday this time…..something completely different and something I hadn’t done since being a really small child. We booked a Haven holiday break….it came recommended by friends with little ones so we thought we would give it a go. To be honest I wasn’t completely sold on the idea of a caravan holiday but I have to say I was more than pleasantly surprised with the standard of accommodation and the facilities available on the park.

We had the weather on our side, mid September and the sun was shining and it was nice and warm for us. We chose to upgrade to what they call a Prestige caravan…pretty much a brand new and one of the higher grades available. As you can see from the photos it was nice and spacious and really a home from home. The bed rooms actually reminded me of a cruise ship cabin.

There was lots going on during the day to keep us busy and keep my little girl entertained…everything from swimming pools and slides, to mini golf, family bicycles, kids clubs, parks, go karts, character parties where the little ones could met the Seaside Squad characters..although Sofia was terrified of them! Evenings were the same with plenty of entertainment if you wanted it. We took my little girl to the min disco and to see the Characters show and then it was off to bed for her. Being young and ready for bed early it was great that we could go back to our caravan, get her in bed and enjoy a relaxing evening with a glass of wine and a film! Not the exciting nightlife I was used to before my little one arrived but perfect with her and of course me getting over being poorly.

The park was right next to the beach and the sand dunes so a great location. We spent a little time at the beach, and although the sun was out it did need to be a few degrees warmer, I’m sure in the summer the beach is the place to be.

All in all we had a really lovely long weekend away and it was just what the doctor ordered. I’m now back to work after almost a month off and normal service can now resume….I have really missed being at work and am now looking forward to getting back in touch with all my customers and finding out what’s been happening since I have been away in the world of cruise.

Of course as always do get in touch…drop me an email [email protected] or call me on 0330 303 8201, thanks Abbi
