But for family-friendly cruise line MSC Cruises, they’ve taken their entertainment experiences to the next level!
In the spring of 2022, they unveiled their sparkling all-new line-up of entertainment shows that are currently being performed across its Meraviglia Class ships – Carousel Productions At Sea.
Meraviglia Class ships are a firm favourite for many MSC Cruises fans, as these mega vessels have a wealth of dining options, activities and central indoor promenades with stunning LED domes.
There are seven original, exclusive acrobatic, dance and musical performances as part of Carousel Productions At Sea, performed on specific ships as part of the Meraviglia Class, which are described by MSC Cruises as immersive entertainment that “takes guests to imaginary universes” and “push creative boundaries”.

When are Carousel Productions At Sea performed?
Shows change daily onboard, with two productions performed every evening. Typically, shows start at around 7.15pm and 9.15pm.
Where are Carousel Productions At Sea performed onboard?
All Carousel Productions At Sea are performed in the Carousel Lounge, a staple venue across the MSC Meraviglia class of ships. The Carousel Lounge is a glittering modern venue, which has state-of-the-art sound and lighting equipment to help bring acrobatic performances to come to life.
The lounge can host up to 400 guests per performance.
How much is it to see a Carousel Productions At Sea show?
All shows as part of Carousel Productions At Sea are priced at €/$ 10 prepaid or €/$ 15 onboard purchased on board, which does include a pre-show entertainment plus a speciality cocktail.
Tickets for shows are not included in the price of your cruise fare.
The Shows
Ajedrez
Ajedrez’s story revolves around a duel between two feuding queens who battle to win over a king, who the two queens are both wildly, madly in love with!
The key theme throughout Ajedrez is chess. In fact, throughout the show, pieces of a traditional chess board, such as knights and bishops, are life-sized statues which come to life, battling to the soundtrack of a constantly ticking chess clock.
The dramatic show Ajedrez is performed onboard MSC Virtuosa.
Arkymea
In Arkymea, a scientist uses a peculiar device which helps them to travel through dimensions to reach the bewildering world of Arkymea. Curious characters await in the magical realm of Arkymea, who perform awe-inspiring acrobatics as part of this show.
Dazzling Arkymea is performed onboard MSC Virtuosa.
House of Houdini
Love magic? You’ll love House of Houdini! This show is all about illusion and imagination, in celebration of legendary magician Harry Houdini, a master performer who was most well known for his escape acts.
As part of Houdini, performers dance and sing utilising fabulous costumes, fantastic props and modern music.
The spectacle that is House of Houdini is performed on MSC Meraviglia.
MYüT
In this show, you’ll be taken on an emotional journey following MYüT’s protagonist, who is trying to find his voice again while in a dreamlike state. Acrobats and dancers help tell the story of MYüT, which is set in a mystical world that has ever-changing backdrops.
You can immerse yourself in this magical world onboard MSC Bellissima.
Rock Circus
An extremely talented team of musicians, dancers, acrobats and circus acts leap and fly through the air performing circus tricks to an incredible classic rock soundtrack, including anthems by AC/DC, Guns & Roses and many more!
Rock Circus is performed on MSC Meraviglia.
Strings
Featuring spellbinding, dynamic flying acrobatics and circus acts plus a live musical soundtrack, Strings is the beautiful story of a toy maker and his muse.
This mesmerising show is only available on MSC Grandiosa.
Sweet
A real-life candy land is brought to life in the aptly named musical Sweet. This toe-tapping show is full to the brim with classic tunes for all the family to enjoy.
