Special Treatment For Cunard Fans With VIP Access To QE2 In Dubai

Cunard has just revealed that passengers on its Queen Mary 2 ship will be the first to board the Queen Elizabeth 2 floating hotel in Dubai.

Guests travelling on the QM2 will have the opportunity to join VIPs and local media at the opening of the QE2, now a floating luxury hotel, on April 18th 2018.

“On behalf of Cunard, we are so excited for our guests sailing on Queen Mary 2 to be of the first to board the QE2 Hotel in Dubai,” said Josh Leibowitz, senior vice president, Cunard North America.

“QE2 holds a very special place in Cunard’s history, and we hope that the ship will continue to be enjoyed by many guests to come.”

Future guests will also have the chance to visit when the Queen Mary 2 returns to Dubai in January and April 2019 as part of her World Voyage.

Guests will enter the ship from a terminal which has been turned into a maritime museum featuring artworks from the ship, which was sold by Cunard to Dubai government investment company Istithmar World in 2007.

QE2 features 224 refurbished rooms and suites, 13 restaurants and nightlife venues, a shopping arcade and 25 meeting rooms and conferencing facilities.

Queen Elizabeth 2 was launched by Her Majesty the Queen in 1967 and was the Cunard flagship liner, undertaking 25 world cruises, crossing the Atlantic more than 800 times and carrying more than 2.5 million passengers.
