Special Guest To Join Fred. Olsen Sailing In Iceland!

A very special guest will be joining Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines’s ship Borealis for a sensational sailing this summer!

Michaela Strachan, a beloved television presenter known for her work on Springwatch and Autumnwatch, will be joining passengers on Borealis’ Remote Greenland and Iceland cruise for four nights this August.

While onboard, Michaela will deliver a fascinating talk on all things wildlife, what makes British wildlife programmes so popular and what it is like filming these intriguing TV shows. Borealis’ Entertainment Manager will join Michaela to answer questions from the audience as part of the talk.

For passengers who want to hear even more from Michaela, they will have the opportunity to book an exclusive lunch with her while onboard too.

“I’m really looking forward to joining this exciting Fred. Olsen cruise and exploring some of the wildlife and wonders of Iceland. I’ve been to Iceland a couple of times before and guests are in for a real treat. The landscapes are beautiful, unique and extraordinary. It’s sure to be a memorable and magical experience.

It’s not the destination that you should enjoy, but also the journey. Onboard there is always plenty to do and lots to get involved with. I will be doing a couple of talks for guests. One about the behind the scenes of wildlife filmmaking and why British wildlife programmes are so popular and a Q&A about my career.

Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines specialise in the joy of the journey and making sure quests experience the flavours, sights and sounds that are slightly removed from the normal tourist trail. Onboard is all about giving guests something different and I’m really hoping my talks will enhance the journey experience.”

Other special guests, alongside Michaela, will be joining Borealis for its 14-night cruise. Representatives from OWE (Ocean Wildlife Encounters) will be onboard helping guests spot marine life. This is part of the Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines’ Signature Experience, Itinerary Insights, a special scheme which celebrates speakers who provide travellers with a deeper understanding of particular subjects.

Borealis’ two-week voyage around Greenland and Iceland will be equally as fascinating for passengers as the talks delivered by these special onboard guests. The cruise will depart from Liverpool on the 4th of August and call at enchanting ports, such as Heimaey, Reykjavík, Ísafjördur, Qaqortoq, Narsarsauq, and Nanortalik.
