Norwegian Cruise Line Adds 1,000 More Solo Staterooms!

Norwegian Cruise Line Adds 1,000 More Solo Staterooms!

Solo cruisers, rejoice! The fun and friendly Norwegian Cruise Line has announced plans to expand its solo stateroom category across its extensive 19-ship fleet.

The cruise line will more than double its capacity of single staterooms, encompassing Solo Insides, Solo Oceanviews, and Solo Balconies. These nearly 1,000 new solo accommodations will be available for booking on sailings starting from January 2, 2024.

Alongside the sweet new solo cabins, single cruisers will also have their own access to the exclusive Studio Lounge, which will have its own bar and sleek spaces to relax, available on some Norwegian Cruise Line ships, and be able to get stuck into a range of activities curated just for them and other single cruisers.

We strive to provide our guests with diverse offerings to create their dream vacation. Since we first launched our solo staterooms in 2010 with Norwegian Epic, they have been quite popular with single travellers.

We are continuously listening to our guests to deliver the experience they want. After realizing the growing demand of individuals looking to travel on their own, we have now expanded single occupancy staterooms across our fleet.

David J. Herrera, President of Norwegian Cruise Line

The expansion of solo accommodations across the Norwegian Cruise Line fleet is in response to the significant surge in the popularity of solo travel adventures. Between 2019 and 2022, the cruise line reported a substantial increase in the number of guests booking accommodations as single occupants in non-studio staterooms.

This trend is hardly surprising. Solo cruising offers a fantastic opportunity to explore sensational destinations at your own pace, from the magnificent landscapes of Scandinavia to the breathtaking sights of Alaska. It’s a chance to make new friends and enjoy the freedom to do exactly what you want when you want!
