Celebrity Cruises’ latest innovative Edge Class series ship has finally arrived!
Celebrity Ascent officially made her grand debut in Fort Lauderdale this December, celebrated by adoring fans and co-Godmothers Captain Sandy Yawn, star of hit series, Below Deck, and her sister Michelle Dunham, Founder of the Jacksonville School for Autism. Michelle officially named the new ship in true maritime tradition, by breaking a bottle of champagne on its hull!

Sandy and Michelle were joined by brothers and Captain Dimitrios Kafetzis and Captain Tasos Kafetzis, who will take the helm of Celebrity Asent as Co-Captains, a first for the cruise line and the industry.
The ship is now sailing on a glorious 7-night Eastern Caribbean cruise, making port calls in popular locales such as St. Maarten, St. Thomas, and the Dominican Republic. After her maiden voyage, Celebrity Ascent will continue sailing in the Caribbean until 2024. Next summer, she will depart on a range of spectacular cruises through the Mediterranean, visiting French, Italian and Greek destinations.
Like her sister Edge Class series ships, Celebrity Apex, Celebrity Edge and Celebrity Beyond, Celebrity Ascent stands out on the high seas due to her bold design features and deluxe accommodations, bars and restaurants.
Celebrity Ascent has its very own two-storey resort within a resort area for suite guests, named the Retreat, staterooms with infinite verandas, a Rooftop Garden and absolutely gorgeous Resort Deck equipped with floating pools, a multi-level Sunset Bar, expanded outdoor dining terrace at upscale eatery Blu, breath-taking live entertainment roster, and the sensational Magic Carpet, a cantilevered space which sits on the side of the ship. There’s all this, plus 32 distinctive lounges, bars and restaurants, an indulgent spa and fitness centre and a variety of glistening pools to enjoy onboard too.
