Premium value, distinctly no-fly Ambassador Cruise Line revealed the details of all the dining experiences available to sample and savour onboard their all-new ship Ambition!
Departing on her maiden voyage on 12 May this year, Ambition is the second ship in Ambassador’s fleet, joining the cruise line’s very first ship Ambience which launched just last year.
Alongside the ship’s range of comfortable and classic facilities and amenities, Ambition will be home to seven exquisite eateries, including the Buckingham Restaurant, Holyrood Restaurant, Lupino’s, Saffron, Chef’s Table, Borough Market, and Alfresco Grill.
The Buckingham Restaurant and Holyrood Restaurants will serve a la carte meals as well as standard cruise buffet fare. On the menu of these main restaurants onboard will include British home comforts, such as Sunday roasts and Shepherd’s Pie, as well as flavourful Paella Valenciana and Wild Mushroom Velouté with Truffle Essence.
Buffet breakfast and lunch will be served daily at the Buckingham Restaurant only, but both restaurants will open for two sit-down dinner sittings.
Paying homage to much-loved Ambassador colleague Michelle Lupino, who unfortunately passed away in 2022, Lupino’s will dish up tasty Mediterranean mezze and salad in relaxed, al-fresco surroundings. For cuisine with a bit of spice, the Indian fine-dining restaurant Saffron will be the perfect place onboard to taste flavourful curries, Thali, and specialist breads.
Guests will be required to pay a supplement fee to dine at Saffron.
The Chef’s Table, an exclusive dining experience offered onboard Ambition every other night, will offer the pinnacle of culinary delights. Guests will be treated to nine delicious dishes and five wines at a Chef’s Table experience.
The Executive Chef onboard will explain how dishes are created and discuss the inspiration for each course, all in a secluded dining space. Ambassador say that spaces may be limited, and guests will be charged a supplement of £89 per person to dine at Chef’s Table.
For something a lot less formal, self-service style breakfast, lunch and dinner eats can be sampled at Borough Market. The eatery will have a number of buffet stations to choose from featuring dishes and cuisines from all over the world, perfect for satisfying all tastebuds onboard!
More casual eats can be picked up at Alfresco Grill, where diners can pick up quick eats such as hot dogs, pizzas and burgers.
Alongside a fantastic range of eats available onboard, Ambition will also be home to a number of sleek bars and lounges serving wines, beers, spirits, cocktails, and non-alcoholic tipples. Venues include the Cavern, a live music venue, swish cocktail bar the Clifton Lounge, poolside Consulate Bar, Angel Bar, the Purple Turtle Wine Bar and Pendennis Bar.
Onboard Ambition, there are dining venues for every mood – from traditional afternoon teas to gala dinners alongside the ship’s Captain – providing ample opportunity for guests to be surprised and delighted throughout their journey.
Carefully designed by our Executive Chef Team, the dining concepts and menus have been created with guest experience at the heart. Following a strong food and beverage customer satisfaction score of 92% on board Ambience we have ensured that we’ve taken on valuable guest feedback and learnings when conceptualising the offerings on Ambition.
