Dynamic dining….what does this mean for your cruise with Royal Caribbean?

After a weekend of Royal Caribbean madness and many customers choosing to book their cruise on board the brand new and exciting Anthem of the Seas for next year I thought I would take a look in more detail at “Dynamic dining”.

I have been talking about this new dining concept with my customers this weekend and there has been lots of questions surrounding it . Some of my customers had already done their own research but there were others that hadn’t yet come across this new dining concept.

question mark

I have never been a fan of dining at a set time in the same restaurant every evening when on a cruise. In the past I have chosen the My time option giving me more flexibility to eat at different times. Dynamic dining is the next step and offers so much more to your dining experience on board…there will be no more set dining times, no set formal evenings and a choice of no less than 18 restaurants. This dining option will be available on the Quantum Class of ships…Anthem & Quantum of the Seas.

You will be able to dine out in a different restaurant each evening of your cruise …how fantastic does that sound. There will be so much choice, more than ever before. You will be able to make your reservations on line before you join your cruise, and you can also book once on board.

Now I have to admit I have spoken to customers this weekend who have always enjoyed traditional dining, choosing either first or second dining for and have not been too keen on this concept to start with. However as we have looked at Dynamic dining in more detail and how much it has to offer they have been converted and now can’t wait to experience all it has to offer next year.

So just what is Dynamic dining and what does it offer…..

There will be 5 restaurants included without any extra charge. If you imagine what was the Main dining room offering the 2 options first or second dining will now be transformed into 5 different restaurants for you to choose from.

American Icon Grill..this will be a classic American menu with lots of regional dishes.

Silk…this would be one of my favourite choices with an adventurous Pan- Asian menu with all the delicious flavours of the Far East.

Chic…this will offer a contemporary, modern menu. I think this restaurant is beautiful, I can just imagine myself dining here on one of the evenings during my cruise, my kind of place.

The Grande…every evening in The Grande will be formal evening, an extra special evening with classic dishes.

Coastal Kitchen…this option is for suite guests and will be an exclusive option.

Speciality dining will also be a part of the Dynamic dining experience.  There will be so much choice  and these restaurants will carry a cover charge. Here are a few that  would definately try.

A new restaurant on board will be  Jamie’s Italian, headed of course by Jamie Oliver. I love the restaurant here in Manchester and I can only imagine how amazing it will be on board. Delicious Italian flavours with a Jamie Oliver twist!

Wonderland….take a look at the photos of this restaurant. How amazing to dine here and the “imaginative” menu I’m sure will not disappoint. I can see lots of twists here on a traditional menu.

Solarium Bistro….another restaurant with a celebrity chef inspiring the menu. Devin Alexander will create this healthy menu and I’m sure you won’t know you are eating a low calorie option meal looking at the photos.

There will also be Royal Caribbean’s favourites on board, Chops Grille steakhouse, Izumi Japanese Cuisine & the Chef’s Table.

There will of course be the casual dining choices which are complimentary, including the Windjammer Marketplace, The Cafe…Two70 and SeaPlex Dog House.

So with so much choice what is there not to enjoy?

I think Dynamic dining is going to become more and more popular and expect that other cruise lines will soon start adopting similar concepts for their own ships.

What do you think…will Dynamic Dining be for you or will you stick to the ships offering the more traditional dining options. I would love as always to hear your thoughts.
