Norwegian Cruise Line

Popular Routes

There are five primary areas that Norwegian Cruise Line operates in, including European itineraries, Pacific cruises, East Coast tours of New England and Canada, Caribbean cruises, and South American adventures. Highlights of these include tours through the Panama Canal and unforgettable trips through the Chilean fjords. NCL was one of the first cruise lines to offer year-round seven-night cruises through Hawaii, with a dedicated ship based in Honolulu!

Dining Options

There are no stuffy restaurants or set dining times on Norwegian cruises, so if you’re the type who likes to go with the flow you’ll love the freestyle dining plan. Sit down for a meal when you like, where you like it, with up to three Main Dining Rooms to choose from alongside a gorgeous buffet and range of casual grills and cafés. A highlight is O’Sheehan’s Neighbourhood Bar and Grill, dishing up perfectly grilled prime rib and salmon. Hit up the buffet for meat carving stations, fresh pastas, waffles and soft serve ice cream, or visit the Asian Fusion dining venues for a drool-worthy tour of the Orient.

Speciality dining experiences vary depending on the ship, but may include options like:

  • Le Bistro – Enjoy classic and new Mediterranean dishes in NCL’s signature French restaurant.
  • Cagney’s Steakhouse – The finest cuts of beef are cooked with all the trimmings.
  • Moderno Churrascaria – Enjoy the Brazilian take on a steakhouse, with slow-roasted skewers.
  • Food Republic – Take a tasting tour around the globe in this international restaurant.
  • Los Lobos – Spice up your cruise with the unique flavours and vibrant atmosphere of this Mexican cantina.
  • La Cucina – Traditional Italian cuisine is served at its freshest in this classy restaurant.

Drinks Packages

Whether you fancy a cool glass of fountain soda or an expertly prepared cocktail by the pool, Norwegian Cruise Line offers two distinct drinks packages to make sure you’re covered. The first is the ‘Corks and Caps Package’ offering unlimited soda, juice, beer and wines by the glass. If you have a taste for cocktails, you can upgrade to the ‘Ultimate Beverage Package’ to add liquors into the deal. On either case, these can be used in all lounges, bars and restaurants during your cruise.

A jam-packed entertainment schedule ensures there’s always something going on, day or night. This includes Broadway spectaculars like Rock of Ages and After Midnight as well as Cirque du Soleil performances. Don’t miss the steamy Latin dancing at Burn the Floor, featuring some of the world’s most gifted dancers.

There are plentiful bars, clubs and venues where you can take in a live music performance with your sea view. Visit the Fat Cats Jazz & Blues Club for a New Orleans-styled ambience, or soak in the electric vibes of the duelling piano show Howl at the Moon. On Norwegian Epic ships, you can even visit a recreation of the legendary Cavern Club where the Beatles got their start! If you like to take a more active role in your entertainment, there’s plenty of choice. Dance parties, comedy performances, variety shows and murder mysteries all get the audience involved – you could win big at Deal or No Deal!

Amenities and Activities

From fitness classes to an action-packed water park and multiple bars and lounges to explore, NCL offers plenty of onboard activities to take part in. The Aqua Park is a prime attraction for families, with the fastest drop slide available at sea and plenty of places to splash and play.

  • Accommodation

Start your day with a cup of coffee on the balcony, or unwind in a spacious seating area in the evening. Guestrooms are filled with modern conveniences, with innovative Studio staterooms on hand for solo travellers. Mood lighting and contemporary décor create a trendy yet relaxing ambience, with Studio guests also having access to their own Lounge to meet fellow travellers. The most exclusive accommodation is The Haven, tucked away at the top of the ship with use of a 24-hour butler and concierge.

  • Mandara Spa

Available on most ships, the Mandara Spa provides everything needed to banish all mainland cares far from your mind. Cool down in the hydrotherapy pools and sweat out stresses in the steam room, sauna and thermal suites. Soothe tired muscles with a hot stone massage or enjoy a full menu of pampering beauty services including facials, acupuncture, and nail treatments.

  • Family Fun

Norwegian Cruise Line is extremely family friendly, making it a top choice when you’re deciding what to do on your next school holidays. Activities are provided for all age groups, including unique options like the Circus School and themed parties for teens. The Guppies Programme is on hand for the littlest guests, with open play areas for parents and babies. Family suites offer interconnecting rooms, so children are close at hand while you still enjoy some privacy.

Dress Code

Norwegian’s dress code falls in line with its relaxed freestyle policy, so you can wear what you like. A good rule of thumb is to dress as you would for any resort, while keeping the destination’s climate in mind. Cruise Casual is the standard for daytime events, with summer dresses, shorts and jeans for women and khakis, jeans and shorts for men.  For the more formal main dining rooms, the dress code is Smart Casual in the evenings. If you love the chance to get all decked out in your finest ensembles, Norwegian’s Night Out event offers the opportunity to wear evening gowns, cocktail dresses and suits.
