Singapore Cruises

Modern Singapore is a hotspot for standout cuisine, high-tech industries and a laid-back lifestyle. It’s a true melting pot with a multicultural vibe, seen in its variety of unique neighbourhoods from Little India to Chinatown as well as its to-die-for hawker cuisine. You’ll be able to get around town quickly with the sparkling clean MRT public transit system to explore hidden gems! The city may sport glamorous high-rises and gleaming skyscrapers, but it’s also quite green with an abundance of well-planned parks like the Gardens by the Bay and an emphasis on eco-friendly sustainability.

What You Need To Know About Singapore

What are the can’t-miss sights in Singapore?

Have a wander around Boat Quay, a perfect example of the old-meets-new vibe in Singapore! Here you’ll find modern skyscrapers sitting next to restaurants housed in historic wharf houses, and the Esplanade Theatres On the Bay nearby. This dome-shaped building includes a theatre, library, concert hall and stylish roof terrace bar. For a glimpse of Singapore’s past, visit the colonial district with its Old Parliament House and St Andrew’s Cathedral, or admire the pretty foliage of the Singapore Botanic Gardens. The city boasts a well-tended zoo with orangutans among its many residents, as well as the domed environments of the Gardens by the Bay featuring cloud forests and vertical gardens.

How can you reach Singapore from the cruise terminal?

The Marina Bay Cruise Centre is a recently constructed addition to the Singapore cityscape, conveniently positioned right next to the downtown district and Marina Bay Sands resort. There’s also a Mass Rapid Transit station near the terminal, which you can walk or take a shuttle bus to. There’s also a Singapore Cruise Centre that’s located in the VivoCity shopping mall, with an MRT station, cable car and trains all close at hand. Downtown is alsol just 10 minutes away by taxi ride. Singapore’s MRT is a true pleasure to use, being super-efficient and, best of all, air-conditioned!

Parking facilities around the cruise terminal

The new Marina Bay Cruise Centre offers its own designated carpark, with a lot suitable for 25 coaches, 327 cars and 46 motorcycles. It’s monitored with CCTV and sheltered from the elements. Parking charges will vary depending on the day and type of vehicle you’re driving, but for most cars you can expect to pay a maximum of $15/day. Fridays and weekends are particularly busy, so if this main car park is full you can opt for Marina South Pier or Gardens by the Bay.

SINGAPORE - DID YOU KNOW?

Don’t miss the chance to try the famous Singapore Sling cocktail where it was invented! The story goes that it was crafted by a bartender in the Raffles Hotel’s Long Bar, but you can also find these fruity pineapple-cherry libations in pop-up bars and hotel rooftop lounges throughout the city.

Singapore’s beaches are found on Sentosa Island, including popular sandy strips like Tanjong and Palawan. You can access the island via cable cars, departing from the Harbourfront Centre and offering splendid views of the city along the way. There’s also the historic Fort Siloso here, which will be of interest to history enthusiasts.

Another journey with a view is the Southern Ridges Canopy Walk. Covering a space of six miles, this walk takes you above ground to give you soothing nature views. You may spot wild monkeys playing in the trees here!

Stylish Singapore is a great destination for shopping, fully loaded with international brand names in its air-conditioned malls and soaring department stores centred around Orchard Road. Takashimaya is a Japanese department store with a mouth-watering array of lunch options in its food court. The Mustafa Centre is a fun alternative to the designer boutiques, located in Little India with a dizzying array of wares to sift through.
