What You Need To Know About Miami

What are the can’t-miss sights in Miami?

The city of Miami is virtually synonymous with its South Beach district, which features colourful Art Deco buildings lining the waterfront. It’s a great place for people watching, soaking in the sun, or shopping in beachside boutiques along glitzy Ocean Drive. Coconut Grove and Coral Gables are two additional historic districts to explore. Coral Gables is home to the Miracle Mile of shops and restaurants, while Coconut Grove offers designer boutiques and the colourful Vizcaya Museum and Gardens. Head over to Key Biscayne to visit Miami’s Aquarium and get outdoors in the Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Recreation Area.

How can you reach Miami from the cruise terminal?

The Miami Port is conveniently located a 15-minute stroll along the waterfront from the Bayside Marketplace, a shopping mall and dining centre with transport links to other parts to the city. A steady line of taxis are queued up at the dock to ferry you about. Many visitors will choose to rent a car to explore the greater Miami areas, since districts like Coral Gables and Coconut Grove are easiest to get to with your own transport. Most car hire companies will provide a shuttle service from the port into their rental office for your convenience.

Parking facilities around the cruise terminal

The Miami Port offers secure parking onsite, with an option of covered and uncovered lots to choose from. You won’t have to worry about lugging your bags about on the way to the terminal either, as complimentary shuttle services are provided! Overnight parking at the moment costs roughly $22/day, but this is the most convenient option. If you’re after a cheaper alternative, Safe Cruise Parking offers a great deal at $6.95/day. This lot is located a bit further afield from the cruise terminals, with shuttle service also provided. For this option, it’s recommended to book your spot in advance.
