Tom's Travels

Captain’s Club with Celebrity Cruises

Royal Caribbean and Celebrity Cruises are two of the best cruise lines when it comes to rewarding their passengers so I was really pleased when I heard that they were changing things.  This makes it easier for those who want to get to a higher loyalty level quicker although you will have to book the more expensive suites if you want to shoot to the top. People who book a Reflection or Penthouse suite will get up to 18 points per person per night. So here is how the new Captain’s Club with Celebrity Cruises will work and how you can benefit from being loyal to Celebrity Cruises.

So just so you have it all to hand here is the link to the old loyalty scheme – http://tomstravels.co.uk/?p=1116

So how will it all work? It’s the same system so you gain points per night, however it’s based on what type of accommodation you are staying in. They have also changed the benefits to make them more beneficial to the cruiser and more exclusive for the loyal Celebrity guests.

Here is how many points you could earn:

Inside and Oceanview will get 2 club points per night

Balcony will get 3 club points per night

Concierge and Aqua Class will get 5 club points per night

Aqua, Sky and Century Suites will get 8 club points per night

Celebrity, Signature and Royal Suites will get 12 club points per night

Reflection and Penthouse suites will get 18 club points per night

The above applies to all ships in the Celebrity Fleet, with the exception of the Celebrity Xpedition. The following applies:-

Oceanview, Deluxe and Premium will get you 2 club points

Junior and Xpedition Suite will get you 8 club points

Royal Suite will get you 12 club points

Penthouse Suite will get you 18 club point

This means that you can get up to 18 points a night depending on the stateroom or suite you choose.  With the old scheme it used to be a maximum of 3 points per night.

Here is how the new tiers are going to work and you can join before you even cruise.

Preview Tier requires 0 points for you to enrol

2 – 149 club points will get you in the Classic Tier

150 – 299 club points will get you in the Select Tier

300 – 749 club points will get you in the Elite Tier

750 – 2999 club points will get you in the Elite+ Tier

3000+ club points will get you in the Zenith Tier

The tiers have only changed slightly with the addition of the two top tiers – Elite+ and Zenith. Inclusions in the lower tiers have changed a little but in my opinion have been changed for the better and to benefit the guest more significantly.

Preview Tier – 0 to 2 Club Points

This tier was introduced only a couple of month ago. This means that you can enroll to be a member before even stepping aboard a Celebrity ship. This will get you the following benefits:-

 Classic Tier – 2 – 149 Club Points

You will automatically get Classic Tier after completing your first sailing with Celebrity.  You will get all the benefits of the Preview Tier plus:-

 Select Tier – 150 – 299 Club Points

Now we reach the higher tiers. This is when the benefits start to mount up.  You will get all of the benefits from Preview and Classic Tier plus:-

 Elite Tier – 300 – 749 Club Points

With the Elite Tier, you will receive the benefits from Preview, Classic and Select as well as:-

 Elite Plus Tier – 750 – 2999 Club Points

Elite Plus is one of the two new exclusive membership levels.  You will receive benefits from the Preview, Classic, Select and Elite tiers plus:-

Zenith Tier – 3000+ Club Points

This is the highest tier within the Captains Club.  Zenith Tier will benefit from Preview, Classic, Select and Elite Benefits plus:-

Terms and Conditions apply. Restrictions also may apply in some benefits and Is subject to change by Celebrity Cruises. Benefits vary on the Celebrity Xpedition.

So what are you waiting for? Celebrity Cruises are calling, how will you answer?!

Let me know what you think of the difference between the old scheme and the new one. As always, I would love to hear your feedback!
