P&O have announced that they are going to be selling an All Inclusive drinks package which will bring them in line with Royal Caribbean, Celebrity and  Fred Olsen, who all  sail out of Southampton and all offer drinks packages on board their ships.

They are starting small though and are only introducing this on board the Azura and it can only be  purchased once on board the ship.

Calling it the Ultimate drinks package, P&O are selling this package for £39.95 per person per day and include all drinks that retail at £6.95 or less, this includes beers, wines, spirits and cocktails as well as speciality teas and  coffees and bottled water. You will also save 20% off any drinks that retail at more than the £6.95 limit.

On top of this, any children sharing with you will receive the child’s soft drinks package for free.

P&O need to be offering a drinks package in order to stay in line with their competitors, customer’s repeatedly ask if there is one included or available. However, P&O are currently one of the cheapest cruise lines for drinks for the UK customer offering much better value than their American competitors, whilst they are offering their drinks package at a very similar cost.

When I was last on board a glass of wine was less than £4.50 so I would have  to drink a fair few of these to get my monies worth. Although if you were a cocktail drinker it will be much better value. It will be interesting to see if they increase their ‘buy the glass’ prices and how many people purchase one.

The package is being offered from the 21st July this year. If you sail on Azura this summer please let me know if you purchase it.
