The Classical Evolution

One of the most significant changes involves the classical music offering. The dedicated Lincoln Center Stage venue has been retired, but classical music remains a core pillar of the Holland America experience through a new program called Vivace.

Vivace is a string duo or trio ensemble that brings chamber music to life across the ship. Instead of being confined to a single room, these world-class musicians now perform in various venues, including the Mainstage and the Ocean Bar. • On Pinnacle Class Ships (Koningsdam, Nieuw Statendam, Rotterdam): The venue is often a dedicated space (sometimes referred to as the "Rock Room" on deck plans) that focuses heavily on classic rock hits. It exists alongside B.B. King's, giving you two distinct band venues.

• On Vista & Signature Class Ships (Eurodam, Nieuw Amsterdam, Noordam, Westerdam, Oosterdam, Zuiderdam): Here, the Rolling Stone Lounge is the main event. It has replaced B.B. King’s Blues Club and features a highly versatile band.To cater to everyone, they play a wider variety of genres - expect R&B, pop, and country sets alongside classic rock.
