Scenery or Selfie?

What sort of pictures do you like taking on holiday? Do you like to come back with a beautiful landscape, that you immediately order on a large canvas to adorn the living room wall, or are you a Selfie King or Queen and have posted at least two hundred plus images of yourself on social media sites before the plane touches down in the UK? Do you not bother taking any? I used to work with someone who never took any pictures when she travelled.

Personally, I hate having my photo taken but at least with the popularity of the selfie, you are in a bit more control of the results and at least nowadays, results are instant. I will be showing my age if I say I remember having to wait for the roll of film to be full then waiting another few days to collect the wallet of prints up from the developer. Why was it in those days, we were happy with 24 or possible even 36 images and now we need a few hundred at a time? Wasn’t it exciting when just one of those was a good one? Now we can take 10 of the same thing and chose the best one. It is so easy now to capture any moment as we only have to get out our phones and click.

Scrolling through my snaps on the flight last night, I was rather happy with this one I took on the boardwalk to the beach.

I also like this one of some of the stunning flora in Marbella old town.

Now don’t get me wrong, I’m not totally adverse to appearing in the pictures although I much prefer to be in a group than alone.

Espana 2So what do you do? Are you constantly on Snapchat or do you take a huge bag of photographic equipment to capture a glorious tropical sunset? What’s the best holiday snap you’ve ever taken?
