You Heard it Here First!

Last week Royal Caribbean announced that construction on their third Oasis class ship had begun at the STX shipyard in St Nazaire, France – as we reported here

It’s customary for cruise lines to announce the name of the ship just before it goes on sale however social media was alive last night with rumours that the name of Royal Caribbean’s newest ship had already been leaked….

Harmony of the Seas!

If rumours are to be believed Captain Trym, currently in charge of Oasis of the Seas announced to a room full of Crown & Anchor Members (Royal Caribbean’s loyalty program) that the name of the third Oasis class vessel would be Harmony.

He followed up his statement by hinting that Harmony of the seas would take over Oasis’s seven night sailings in the Caribbean whilst Oasis would head out to join Quantum of the Seas in China.

This would back up reports of Asia being the next ‘big’ cruise destination with interest amongst cruisers rising year on year – as we mentioned here

Harmony will be the third Oasis class vessel in the fleet, preceded by Allure and Oasis of the Seas and will follow the design of the previous two, measuring 225,282 gross tons with sixteen passenger decks capable of holding 2,700 cabins.

What do you think to the name Harmony of the Seas?

Let us know what you think below and (as it’s just a rumour at this point) we’ll send your suggestions onto Royal Caribbean!
