MSC Cruises Delay Returning To UK Again

It’s just been announced that MSC Cruises will not offer a complete season of ex-UK sailings until 2018, instead of 2017 as previously thought.

Gianni Onorato, chief executive of MSC said that the line would be delayed due to “internal commitments.”

This is sad news for those passengers looking forward to cruising from their doorsteps in the UK.

Onorato explained, “we are going to look more deeply at the North American and UK markets, and then after that we will look at Asia.

“In the UK we want to be the reference cruise line for the Mediterranean, and we’re investing in that. As soon as we have growth in the fleet we will look to have a competitive ship in the UK market.

“I think we will have a one-year delay in coming back to the UK because of other developments internally.”

However, the line will still be making select sailings from the UK from the port of Southampton.

What do you think of the news? Are you sad to miss out on MSC from Southampton for another year?
