How To See The World’s Best Firework Displays On A Cruise

November 4, 2016

It’s that time of year again where everyone fills up their flasks, puts on their thermals and heads outside to watch beautiful firework displays light up the night sky for bonfire night! First it was Halloween and the next thing you know it, it’s already Christmas! But before the festive season descends, why not take some inspiration from other firework displays around the world that are worth seeing?

From sitting along the wharf watching the rockets descend above the Sydney Opera House to dancing the night away in India whilst the Catherine wheels whizz overhead… Here are some of the best firework displays around the world (that you can cruise to!)

Seeing in Christmas, Rio, South America

Whereas the rest of the world celebrate Christmas with Santa, yule logs and stuffed turkeys, the South Americans go all out and have a huge firework celebration to bring in Christmas! What better way to get into the festive spirit then by watching a Christmas firework display on Copacabana beach…?

Diwali, Delhi, India

Another religious celebration to watch out for is Diwali, which after all is known for being the festival of lights! Worshippers all over the world come together in festivities and some great spots to catch spectacular Diwali firework displays include Delhi, Karachi, and there are also great displays locally around the UK.

New Years Eve, Sydney, Australia

Is there anything quite like watching the firework display over the Sydney Opera House? Australia is one of the first to bring in the new year and what a better way to welcome it than with a glass of champagne as you watch the firework display that puts UK shows to shame! If you miss getting a seat front row in the harbour, then there are plenty of viewing points to watch the show all over the city.

Chinese New Year, Hong Kong, China

Where in the world creates a spectacle anything quite like the large Chinese cities on Chinese New Year? Head to hubs like Beijing, Shanghai or Hong Kong and you won’t be disappointed by the dazzling array of lights, colours and sounds!

Malta International Display, Malta

This firework display was only introduced a few years ago but is quickly becoming one of the biggest in the world! With the opportunity for contestants to compete and show what they can do with pyrotechnics, expect the unexpected…
