Frozen at Sea

If you’re a fan of Disney and going on cruises, you’ll be delighted to discover that Disney Cruise Line is bringing a new experience on board, inspired by the hit animation film Frozen.

For those who have seen the movie, you’re bound to be familiar with Princess Elsa and the catchy theme song Let it Go and beginning in summer 2015, the Frozen characters will make their debut on Disney Cruise Line’s Disney Dream, Disney Fantasy, Disney Magic and Disney Wonder vessels.

For one day on a number of sailings to Alaska and Europe the ships will be transformed into a winter wonderland, with sparkling icicles lining the grand staircase and the atrium lobby scattered with a snow effect to resemble Elsa’s magical ice palace.

The Frozen experience will include a deck party, a meet and greet with the characters, storybook adventures ashore, and a three-song stage show production.

During the day, passengers can enjoy appearances by Elsa, Anna, Sven, Kristoff and everyone’s favourite snowman, Olaf.

Families can take part in an ‘Anna’s Chase for the Chocolate’ scavenger hunt, where guests will be awarded with a surprise upon completion. Children can also join in the ‘Do You Want to Build a Snowman’ activity, where they will take on Elsa’s magical powers to create snow and ice.

There will also be an opportunity for passengers to learn a traditional Scandinavian dance, which Disney Cruise Line has named ‘The Maypole Swirl and Twirl’, involving spinning and braiding giant ribbons.

And in the evening the fun doesn’t stop, as guests can indulge in a Frozen-themed dining experience, with traditional Nordic dishes inspired by the film.

What’s more, passengers can put on their dancing shoes at the ‘Freezing the Night Away with Anna, Elsa and Friends’ family-friendly deck party, where the upper decks of the vessels will be adorned with giant snowflakes, icicles and snow-covered rocks.

The evening finishes with family dancing on the pool deck and a nightclub party for adults-only, including frozen speciality drinks.

Seven and nine-night sailings begin from June 6th 2015.
