Celebrity Cruises have just announced a multimillion dollar refurbishment for two of their ships.
The Celebrity Infinity and the Celebrity Summit will be upgraded to include brand new features such as a “Rooftop Terrace” venue, an upgraded Suite Class experience and the addition of a speciality restaurant, the Tuscan Grille.
Dry dock will begin for the Celebrity Infinity on October 15th this year and Celebrity Summit will go into dry dock on the 27th February next year. However it’s expected all the upgrades will only take two weeks to be accomplished.
The Rooftop Terrace will add new, chic furniture, a large outdoor film screen with stereo surround sound where you’ll be able to combine the latest movies with great food. It’s expected be a new space to hang out during the day or watch shows at night with a selection of specially chosen food.
The president and CEO of Celebrity Cruises Lisa Lutoff-Perlo said: “The Rooftop Terrace is a brand-new way to enjoy the great outdoors on a modern luxury holiday.”
“The popularity of our Lawn Club venues has shown us that some of the richest moments our guests enjoy are when relaxing in beautiful outdoor spaces. In creating the Rooftop Terrace, we wanted to create a hot spot where guests can kick back under the stars in the middle of the ocean, with amazing entertainment and food.”
As well as this, every penthouse and royal suite will receive new fixtures, marble surfaces and seats in bathrooms whilst the rest of the suite will have new carpets, curtains and bed linens added.
The addition of the Tuscan Grille will introduce Celebrity’s popular Mediterranean inspired steakhouse with an Italian cocktail menu, extensive wine list and wide selection of fine dishes. Examples of the menu include crispy crab arancini with lemon pepper aioli, swordfish with Castelvetrano olives and oven roasted prime dry aged steak.
