Summer Time Plans

Thought I would do more of a personal blog this week. Let you know what I am up to over the next couple of months.

So first up is celebrations for my good friend and colleague Gina who will be turning 60 this month. We have a night planned with her family and friends some of whom are coming from the UK to join in the celebrations. Can you believe this woman is sixty in just a couple of weeks? Me neither and I hope I look as good a Gina when I get to this milestone.

A few days after, I will be off to the UK to meet a new man that is due in our lives. My best friend Claires daughter is due to give birth any day now and I am sure she cannot wait for him to arrive, especially in the heat that the UK has been having over the last few weeks. Baby Beamin will be a welcome addition to the family and I cannot wait to meet him. I do feel for Amber though as she is only 4 foot 11 and daddy is over 6 foot! Baby Beamin is currently estimated to be a 7 pounder and very long!  As you can see, she is huge and ready to drop!

I was there all through her mums pregnancy with her and Amber is the closest thing to a daughter that I have, we are very close and I know that she will make a great mum. I have been lucky to have seen Amber through various stages of her pregnancy, with quick visits back to the UK. I planned my trip this time to make sure that if he is late (Amber has served him his eviction notice today) then I will still get to meet him as it will be within the 2 weeks after her due date. For Amber’s sake I do hope he is early and decides not to sleep in for a while longer!

With various family friends coming over for the summer, it will be busy weekends and working. Then finally a week with my best friend Claire and her man. They arrive late August for a week and we have some nice things planned. I know that Claire will be looking forward to this break, especially as she will be spending a couple of weeks helping Amber and the new baby too.

So fingers crossed the weather hold out for me in the UK when I am over, although might be nice to have a break from the current 38 degree heat we have now in Spain!
