Formal or Not?

In the past 9 years I have been on 7 different cruise lines as working in this industry I find it a must to try all the different cruise lines before returning to a particular one. However in particular I have one or two favourite’s such as the Azamara Journey and Holland America’s Nieuw Amsterdam.

I have cruised with P and O, Norwegian Cruise lines, Carnival, Holland America, Fred Olsen, Cunard and Azamara club cruises and have to say that I like the formal dining Cunard has to offer and the freedom club resort style with Azamara club cruises. However I think Azamara club cruises would win hands down as they have so much more to offer such as the complimentary beverages and free gratuities along with their free Azamazing evenings. Also with their ships only being around 33,000 tonnage it is a much smaller ship for you to get friendly with other customers on-board. you will also find they they offer the white evening, which in light of this was a semi formal white party that had all the trimmings to go with it. Although not everyone joined in dressing up.

Although I love the formal nights on-board a cruise Azamara just seems to tick every box and gives you the choice to wine and dine in formal wear or just resort smart casual. And I am sure I would not say no to another Cunard cruise as these can be somewhat cheaper then Azamara however given the choice I would certainly go back with Azamara club cruises as I feel this is my favourite type of cruise.
