Star Clipper – something a little different……

I am hearing more and more from clients that are after something that little bit different, covering a range of destinations and cruise experience. I have been asked a few times over the past month about Star Clipper cruises so I thought I would share a little information about them.

Star Clipper Tall ships

Perfect for cruising in casual elegance. Star Clipper itineraries range from the sun-kissed Mediterranean to the exotic Far East and the Caribbean. On board you will enjoy a relaxed atmosphere, friendly crew, and international cuisine, all in pampered comfort. If you’re a boating enthusiast, you can choose to lend a hand hoisting the sails, you can climb the mast, or you can just lay back in luxury and let the crew do all the work.

Dining & Dress Code

Menus will feature international cuisine as well as some local specialities There are no pre-set seating arrangements in the dining room and each dining room has a number of different table sizes, so you simply sit where you wish and with who you wish including the ship’s officers who join passengers in the dining room most nights. As you will see from below dining times are wide and you can choose to eat whenever you prefer within those times. What to wear for meals is a matter of your own personal taste, shorts and t shirts are fine for breakfast and lunch. In the evening gentlemen should wear shirts with long sleeves and collars, Jackets are optional. Menus Menus will feature international cuisine as well as some local specialities and your catering steward will be happy to recommend a wine to complement your meal. Dining Early risers can enjoy a continental breakfast with Croissants, Toasted English muffins or sweet Danish pastries. Or savour a full breakfast with fresh tropical fruit and crisp bacon and, grilled sausage. Omelettes are cooked to order in front of you and are highly recommended by us, always perfectly cooked and a great way to start the day. At lunch a marvellous buffet of seafood, salads and grilled favourites await you and if the days includes a stop at one of the many private islands Star Clipper visits may also include an excellent outdoor barbeque on shore — Not to be missed!! When evening comes the dining room is transformed into an elegant restaurant and the setting for the chef’s finest culinary presentations Meals are generally scheduled as follows:

06.30 to 10.30 Continental style breakfast or coffee, tea, pastries and juices in the piano bar

08.00 to 10.00 Breakfast buffet in the dining room

12.00 to 14.00 Lunch buffet on board

17.00 to 18.00 Hors d’oeuvres available in the Tropical Bar or Piano Bar

19.30 to 22.00 Dinner “a la carte” in the dining room

How about sailing the Atlantic…….

A Transatlantic crossing has always been as much about the voyage as the destintation, Star Clipper are giving you the opportunity to cross the Ocean on a true tall masted sailing ship. You will be transported back to the grand age of sailing where you can relax, enjoy good food and fine wines, while experiencing the true adventure and excitment of crossing an Ocean from one continent to another – fancy doing one of these??
