My week away…..

So i’m back after my week away!! We had a great time, you cannot beat spending time with the kids, laughing and joking with friends and just chilling out…. Good for your soul.

I spent a week with the children and some friends in a lodge on Bluestones in Pembrokshire. We were so lucky with the weather which makes all the difference.

We arrived late afternoon on the Monday, your lodges are not ready until 4.30 but you can still make use of the facilities on site. We hired 2 golf buggies to get around (well worth the money), so we took a leisurely ride all round the site. It really is a beautiful place.

We had 2 planned activities while we were away, the first was zip wiring and the second was archery. . Archery was great we all took part and had a mini competition. One of the rounds was you had to get the 5 different colours of the target in 9 arrows. My friend managed to do this in 5, apparently this is very rare!! Of course we never heard the end of this!!

Zip wiring is another story, didn’t start off too great, firstly I have a major fear of heights which seems to be getting worse the older I get, and secondly my 10 year old son was extremely dubious about doing it, to the point he said to me there was no way he was going to put his harness on. I did have a quick word with the leader who said there was no way we were not going to do it!! So after a shaky start my son and I were all harnessed up and ready to go. The instructors decided the 4 youngest would go first and then the 4 adults after, which in hindsight was the best thing to do. My son took the 1st zip wire first and without any fear he went – i was so pleased for him, after that he loved it, in fact he wanted to go again. As for me I am pleased to say that i did complete the course and walked away feeling very proud of myself…

We also spent a day on Tenby beach which was absolutely beautiful, we are so lucky to have such stunning coastlines.

The site also has a massive swimming pool with a lazy river and slides which of course the children loved, think us adults enjoyed it just as much!

It really is a great place to go and look forward to booking up again next year!!
