Child Globe Trotters!

As a travel agent and someone very passionate about travelling, it was only natural that when I became a mother I wanted to make sure my children travelled as much as they possibly could and since then my children have been very lucky enough to travel to many different countries from as young as 8 weeks old.

There has been alot on controversy recently about children being taken out of school in term time for holidays. I am firm beilever that travelling broadens a childs mind and that as important as education is there are certain things that a child can learn from travelling that simply cannot be taught in a classroom. Therefore let them go as far and see as much of the world as possible.

Crazy Ruby loves flying

This is why i loved reading  about Lorenna D’Amore Nogueira, 4, and Henrique D’Amore Nogueira, 6, from Brazil, have been reconised as Oceanias youngest ever world cruisers.  On 6th Jan 2017 these two little jet setters embarked Oceania Insigna on a 180 day world voyaye where they visited 38 different countries on 6 different continents, and are due back from their adventures on 6th Jul.

Their mother Drielle who is a teacher said “This is an incredible way to learn about world history, culture and people. They have adapted to it all very easily and willingly and are interested in new stories,” she went on to say. “This experience will definitely make a difference when studying, learning and understanding matters in school.”

The children father Diego added, “It’s fantastic how children are sponges absorbing everything around them…The diversity encountered (on this cruise) will certainly help them grow with less prejudices because they met so many people from different cultures.”

When the children were asked about their experience they both gushed about how much fun they have  on their trip, they loved spending time with their parents, and visiting different countries.

Henrique saidEvery time that we leave for excursions, I really like returning to the ship and hearing the crew say, “Welcome back!” I love my house on the ship. I have a high bed that opens and closes and that’s awesome.”

So what do you think?

Do you agree that children benefit from travelling the world?

Is a world cruise or any cruise suitable for a child?

Here is a blog my children wrote about their first impression on cruising from a few years ago, I cannot wait to take them later this year on our first proper family cruise holiday.
