Trevor Cruises

Euro’s 2016 is here and onboard.

St Georges flag.

At long last our next major football tournament is about to start and as always I am so looking forward to it.

During the month of May I made sure that all my shifts worked around the England, Ireland, Wales and Republic of Ireland fixtures, i got there but having to factor in the school runs, birthdays and weddings it was a task.

Now I am lucky enough to choose my hours but not everyone else has that fortune and not everyone has a choice what date they are going on holiday, especially when the good lady is booking it.

Fortunately for cruisers almost all the cruise lines will be showing every game live on board and if your are lucky enough you may get to watch it on the big screen on top deck, in the pool with a beer in hand, to me that sounds amazing but i am happy with my plans, BBQs, BBQs and the odd night in town, and more BBQs, long live this weather we are currently enjoying.

Personally I think watching a game on a cruise ship is more enjoyable than at a bar somewhere on the Costa, a Greek Island, Cyprus for instance, I always feel with the amount of drink, different nationalities in a small space and team results disappointments you are always looking over your shoulder in anticipation of a brawl.

Are you going away during the Euro’s and if so have you checked whether the ship is showing the games, I know I would have done so.

And not forgetting the Test cricket and Wimbledon, you can never get enough sport, can you?

Wimbledon is going to be a good year for the brits i think, we have some great talent coming through in both the women’s and men’s games.

Enjoy your cruise, but most of all enjoy your sport, it’s going to be a great summer.
