Birthdays , when does the giving stop !

This is absolutely nothing to do with cruising ! just a general idea of what people do nowadays , this is not a gripe or moan, just an observation , it did actually start because of a cruise, as I did my 50th on board P&O Oceana which all of the family attended a fantastic way to get all of the generations together from different parts of the country without costing a fortune. It was perfect, suited all ages and pockets.

But I digress, this now comes back to the birthday question, one of five siblings , we all (apart from one) have children , and now these children are having children !!

Do we carry on giving, Christmas is now sorted , if you have a child you fall off the tree and your child  gets a gift !!  Its birthdays. what do we do? Apart from the fact it gets impossible to remember all of the ages and dates of birth the numbers just keep growing! I have a great niece who is getting to her teens, she could potentially start having a family in a few years, when does it stop !!!

Do you have a large family and  have any better ideas, do you do things differently ?
