NCL Escape in Southampton in 2015
Today marks a moment in the history books for Norwegian Cruises Lines or more so known as NCL.
From the 6th April, onwards any cruise that you book with NCL will be Fully Inclusive, so you will as standard have the Drinks Package included which includes the Service Charge but not only this the Tips will be included as standard. This does appear to mean that they cannot be removed but they are built in to the fare, so it’s a bit different than before when they are added on to the cruise fare.

This has to be one of the most controversial subjects when it comes to cruising! Tip, Gratuities, Service Charges whatever you want to call them? Do you pre-pay them or tip the members of staff personally when you get on board?

1So the wait is finally over and Celebrity Edge goes on sale later today, although after phoning Celebrity this morning and having a chat with a rather excited consultant – I made the remark – I hope she comes to Southampton and her response was ‘well you never know!’

I cannot believe today marks the 1st March. Time just seems to fly! January and Febuary generally tend to be the busiest months in the travel year, just after Christmas you find some of the best deals available.

NCL Cruises have made some breath-taking new ships over the past few years and I think it has to be said they have really upped their game with the Breakaway and Breakaway Plus Classes. Norwegian Jade will always remain a firm favourite with the UK and European Market and the move to put her back in Southampton has proven to be a good decision, and not only does it mean that fans of this much-loved ship only need to get to Southampton, it also gives those that don’t want to fly the opportunity to sample a NCL Ship on a longer voyage. It has been recently announced that NCL will also keep NCL Jade in Southampton for her 2018 season as well.

It has recently been announced that Carnival will release a third Vista Class ship, the vessel was due to be built and launched under the P&O Australia label but in recent days that has been washed out, and Carnival have said that they will have it.

Viking have really hit the Cruising Scene hard, they are immensely popular on the Rivers of the World with countless ships cruising the Waterways of Europe, Asia, Russia and the Far East. River Cruising is a very boutique and luxury experience with small ships and an all included feel.

It has been recently announced that the Adonia which left the P&O fleet in 2015 will return to P&O in 2017. The R Class vessel originally built in 2001 for Renaissance Cruises is only 30,200 gross tons so one of the smaller vessels available, with 7 sisters, majority of which sail for the Luxury brands such as Oceania and Azamara Club Cruises, and Princess Cruises is more what I would call a discovery vessel, her size gives her so much more advantage getting in to those small ports of call, after all Azamara are all about the Destinations.

I can’t quite believe that I am sat here and we are only a couple of days away from the big day, so I wanted to take a moment to wish all my past, current and future guests a very Merry Christmas and all the best for a Happy 2017. Since starting here at Cruise.co.uk back just under 4 years ago, I have made some very good friends, as those who I have had the pleasure of speaking to you all know I talk to much but for those endless chats its been great, and I look forward to getting to know more of you in 2017. Even if it’s just for a chat, just pick up the phone!
