On 9th May I’ll be down in Southampton for the ‘Royal Rendezvous’.  Cunard will be celebrating Queen Marys 10th Anniversary and there will be ‘special sail-pasts and spectacular fireworks’.

On the morning of 9th May the three ships will sail into Southampton together, with Queen Victoria and Queen Elizabeth paying a special tribute to Queen Mary 2 on her 10th anniversary as the ships arrive in port. The day will feature spectacular fireworks as all three ships set sail together from Southampton that evening, with Queen Mary 2 leading the way down Southampton water to the Solent.

I’m really looking forward to this as I have my own ties to Cunard after my father spent time working as one of the head chefs on QE2 back in the 70’s.
