P&O have finally come up with a drinks package as a trial, as they never had that before. At present it will only be available on the Azura from the 21st of July for a month and they may continue if they think it’s a success, but is it going to be a success? I have asked my customers to put their comments about it on my Facebook page and most of them are negative comments. Take a look at the highlights and think for yourself:
- Cost is £39.95 per person per day
- Included beers, single measure spirits, cocktails and wine by the glass up to £6.95 in value
- Unlimited draft soft drinks ,mocktails, primo Costa coffees, teapigs teas, hot chocolates and small bottled water.
- 20% discount on the following items: drinks above £6.95,bottles of wine, large bottles of water, canned and bottles soft drinks, juices and smoothies.
- Travelling with children 16 or under? We’ll include the Children’s drinks package at no extra cost!
Now there are a few restrictions :
- Each adult in the cabin has to pay for the package, you can’t just buy one.
- only one drink at the time may be ordered
- Alcoholic drinks are limited to 15 beverages per 24 hour period
- only available for cruise of 5 nights or over.
All bottle and cans will be served to you open
So looking at all these facts, is it good value for money? personally I am not sure at the initial cost of £40 which isn’t cheap and then the restriction of 15 drinks a day, which for me will be more than enough and I can’t see many people wanting more than 15 but why to restrict in the first place? Also is £6.95 does cover most drinks? not sure without seeing the price menu. Looking at all these pros and cons I am not sure if it will be popular among the P&O hardcore. What do you think?
