The new MSC Meraviglia

So, I had the opportunity to go visit the new MSC Meraviglia. I’m not going to lie I wasn’t sure what to expect. I haven’t been an MSC fan in the past. Booked several cruises for MSC for my customers but they’ve never appealed to me to cruise wit them for my own personal holiday. Until now.
I have to admit I was pleasantly surprised by it’s beauty. What a beautiful ship she was. State of the art in the latest design and technology. My only grip so far, apart from the travelling to get there which I won’t get into, was the fact I only had the one night on board. I’d live to have had maybe two or three nights to really appreciate the ship and all of what’s on board.

was probably the nicest ship I’ve ever seen. I loved the promenade and new features like their flight simulator, the bowling lanes and the amazing 4-D cinema. Plenty here to keep kids and families entertained. It’s always nice to be on a brand new ship, the first to sleep in a new bed and to be on there before it’s maiden voyage.

I took some photos, not as many as I wanted as very little time on board. We had a nice meal in nice dining restaurant. I’m going to reserve judgement just yet on the food, it was nice but perhaps as this was a short visit, there wasn’t a lot to choose from and I expected to see a menu with what will be the traditional every day dishes if you don’t like what’s on the menu. I did look and remember thinking if I was here with my girlfriend, she wouldn’t have tried any of the menu. So I’ll need to hear from future guests on how the food goes for proper sailings.

My biggest complaint with MSC from my customers is the languages spoken on board. 5 different announcements and English last. Well, MSC tell me that English will now be the first spoken language on board, all staff have to speak English and with the exception of some cruises around the Caribbean and Cuba this 5 different language announcements shouldn’t happen. Even the Captain won’t have a lot to say unless necessary and the only times you will hear different languages is for the emergency drill. That I could live with.

So, my future plans, yes I’m going to try and get myself booked on this ship for my own holiday and give it a real go. Pleasantly surprised and I just may become an MSC fan. I’ll keep you posted.
