I’m off to Alaska

It’s that time of year for me and I’m off on Holiday and I can’t wait. Alaska here I come. I booked myself and my wife with a couple of friends to go to Alaska and we booked as early as last March so waiting almost a year and a half it had better be worth it. I’m sure it will be. I’ve always wanted to go to Alaska and it has been on my bucket list for a long time so I’m excited about actually going. We head off to Seattle on Thursday for the one night before then joining the Royal Caribbean’s Explorer of the Seas. So, by the time you read this I should be half way through my voyage. I know Alaska can have 300 days a year of rain but it doesn’t bother me. I’m just pleased to be going and can’t wait to see the scenery. So, do watch out for future blogs when I enclose some photos of my visit. Those of you who know me or follow me will know that I’m a big U.S.A fan and of course no trip for me to the states would be the same without a little visit to Florida. Yep, after the cruise I have an internal flight, a Red eye as the locals would call it to Florida where I can get my Florida fix in for 5 nights before we head to Miami for our return flight home. The reason for the Miami departure is I’m leaving from Heathrow and want to return to the same Airport. It’ll be a road trip at the end as a day out. I love Florida and do try to go at least once every year.

I’m a fan of Royal Caribbean and though I haven’t been on the Explorer of the Seas before I have been on a sister class ship The Navigator so I do know what I’m in for. I’m lucky enough to have a Grand Suite on this occasion. I have to admit I do like the Suite benefits you get with Royal Caribbean.

Anyway, do please check back in a couple of weeks’ time when I will share some of my photos and give my honest opinion of the ship and Alaska itself.
