Where do you come from?

Have you ever researched your family tree?

Last year I did exactly that, I managed to go back all the way to 1837 through 6 generations and found signed documents of the 1911 census from family members and how many lived in their house, who lived there and who married who etc. It was most astonishing.

This is one of the oldest photos I have from my family tree which would have been taken in the 1940s with my Nan sat on the right with her daughter, her Mum stood behind, and then her Mum sat on the left who was born in 1876, I was born exactly 100 years later in 1976.

The photo next to it is then me with my Daughter, Nan in same position on the right.

Its amazing to see where youve come from and  I would recommend researching your family tree.

We had a bit of difficulty with mu husbands family tree however as we couldnt get past either his Mum or Dad, so that was a little more tricky.

So it must mean we need to go on a Cunard cruise, they have now partnered with ancestry.com to offer a unique opportunity for guests to research their family tree.

Cunard in the late 1800s played a huge part in the immigration movement and 1 in 5 immigrants traveled with Cunard through Ellis Island.

There will be a feature sailing on 4 November 2018 onboard the mighty ocean liner QM2, the sailing will depart from Southampton to New York and onboard hosts will include geneaolgy experts to assist in the research of your family tree. These experts will assist with census and military records.

And what better to do this than sailing onboard QM2 across the Atlantic.

Let me know if you are interested in this cruise, it is sure to be popular!!
