After the success of the Carnival Vista ship, Carnival cruise line has announced another exciting project. The build of two brand new ships was finalized yesterday, the largest yet even built of a stunning 180,000 gross ton cruise ships and will accommodate approximately 5,200 passengers

This has been commissioned from Carnival Cruise line by Meyer Turku Marks, a shipbuilder in Finland!  The two ships, scheduled for delivery in 2020 and 2022, will be the largest in their fleet by far.

The size of these ships will allow us the opportunity to introduce many new innovations and features and elevate the Carnival vacation experience to even greater heights! It will introduce a variety of magnificent new features and innovations to further enhance the experience on board. No information has been given about design details, features and itinerary information for the new ships. These will be announced at a
later stage. What we know for definite is that both ships will feature Carnival Corporation’s exclusive “green cruising” design powered by Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) – which is the world’s cleanest burning fossil fuel. This will mark the first time an LNG-powered cruise ship will be based in North America.  These ships are being designed for maximum energy efficiency and environmental friendliness and will further demonstrate Carnival cruise lines commitment to environmental responsibility wherever we operate.

Prior the debut of these two ships a third ship is under construction at the Ficantieri shipyard in Italy at present. This is 133,500-ton called Carnival Horizon is set to debut in 2018. Most of the latest best new ships have been built here, so this project is going to deliver a ship no less than amazing

At present Carnival operates a fleet of 25 ships. Carnival Cruise Line is the largest cruise line in the largest cruise company in the world. Its parent, Miami-based Carnival Corp. (NYSE: CCL) also owns Fathom, Princess Cruises, Holland America Line, Seabourn, Cunard, AIDA Cruises, Costa Cruises, P&O Cruises UK and P&O Cruises Australia. Carnival Corp. employs about 3,000 people at its South Florida office.

Cruising industry is an ever expanding business as more and more people get the cruising bug. We all know cruises are the most polluting enemy of our seas. Do you think “green cruising” design powered by Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) is the new way to go?
