“Blue”

The blue man group is an organization that produces theatrical shows and concerts featuring experimental music, comedy and multimedia. The first time I saw the show I was on the Norwegian Epic a couple of years ago. There is nothing else like it, this group is so talented. They can say anything without a word. They are energetic, engaging, talented and comic.

It’s a high-tech musical show infused with comedy. Know that it is a partially interactive show, so there is a chance you could be ‘slimed’ by various substances (raincoats are provided for the first few rows), and you may also be called upon to participate in the show in a strange eating contest that’s actually kind of grotesque, but hilarious. The music is loud, but not too loud. The digital choreography is well rehearsed and very entertaining.

I had no idea what to expect having not seen The Blue Man group before, I thought it was fantastic from start to finish. The whole thing had me mesmerized for nearly 2 hours. I would say the show would suite all ages with the exception of really young children. There are so many amazing visual effects and they do a good job of keeping the viewers excited and entertained. Between the illusions and music, it’s hard to decide what the best part is.

They perform on the Norwegian Epic cruise ship, venues in Boston, Las Vegas, Orlando, Berlin, Chicago and touring next year around the States. Tickets vary from $85.00 – $163.00 so a bit pricey. But if you are a passenger of the Norwegian Epic these shows are completely free for any row in the theater saving you a substantial amount of money if you are in a family of 4.
